Their challenge
The Kings Trust needed a more competitive, consistent pay and reward framework to attract, retain and progress talent. Outdated pay scales, unclear benefits and inconsistent decisions were affecting retention and progression, making change essential to strengthen the charity’s employee proposition.
Our solution
Innecto reviewed existing pay ranges, benchmarked market competitiveness and worked with the Executive team to define reward principles and an investment roadmap. This resulted in redesigned pay and grading around job families and introduction of clear pay progression based on contribution. We continue to provide expertise through our Reward on Demand service on a call off basis.
The outcome
-
Annual engagement survey results showed a 24% increase in favourable responses to the pay statement
-
Pay progression zones helped reduce turnover, particularly across operational delivery roles.
-
Competitive pay ranges improved the charity’s ability to attract high-quality talent.
-
Clearer reward principles and benchmarking capability enabled the Trust to manage pay decisions more consistently and confidently.
-
Employee forum feedback indicated a more positive internal dialogue around pay and reward.

Client feedback
“The service Innecto provides is comprehensive, the team has true subject matter expertise and understand the topic inside out. Justine was integral in developing the long-term lens, while the team concentrated on the nuts and bolts. We have developed a strong, working relationship with the Innecto team, and there is never a feeling of being “sold to”, or that we were being pushed into something we were unsure about. Justine and the team understood our sector challenges, and the solutions they provided were easy to sell internally because they were tailored to our organisation.”
