Senior Reward Analyst

Reports to: Analyst Team Leader

Job purpose

To contribute to the successful development and delivery of client reward projects by undertaking analysis, research and report production in the areas of pay/benefits data benchmarking, data manipulation, creating pay structures and bonus scheme design/modelling.

Key responsibilities

  • Analysis and manipulation of client pay and benefits data using MS Excel – sorting, collating and analytical modelling – and our SaaS based online pay benchmarking tool PayLab.
  • Production of management reports, charts and graphs for presentation to client managers (both HR and line) to support key HR practices such as annual salary reviews, and pay, bonus and benefits benchmarking.
  • Dealing with external salary survey providers and publishers, preparing data submissions and related administration on behalf of clients.
  • Evaluation and matching of jobs into existing job classification frameworks, including working on-site with clients as required.
  • Development of pay structures for clients, modelling scenarios and payroll costs.
  • Development of bonus/commission schemes, modelling options and testing scenarios/costs.
  • Production of employee pay/benefit statements, equal pay audits and related activities.
  • Communication (via telephone, e-mail and occasionally face-to-face) with external salary survey suppliers and clients to progress/present projects, match jobs into surveys and sort queries.
  • Handling and resolving queries from client staff and managers (both HR and line) regarding pay and benefits.
  • Researching market information – new survey providers, industry practices and publications, benchmarking data, advising the Lead Consultant of findings and options for change.
  • Providing guidance/informal supervision to the other Consultant team members in areas of pay benchmarking and salary data management.
  • Contributing to new business development activities by advising Client Directors around potential salary survey providers and internal resource requirements.
Main job requirements
 
Education:
 
  • University Degree in Business/Numerical subject - Desired
  • Professional Qualification (or part qualified) CIPD - Desired
Technical skills:
 
  • Expert level proficiency in MS Excel, intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Wider IT/HR systems expertise, together with advanced internet research skills.
Specific experience
 
Required:
Demonstrable experience in an analytical pay/reward environment, including data manipulation, producing analysis and report. This could have been gaines from working in an 'in-house' HR team within the private sector or for a pay/reward consultancy. You will be experiences in conducting/undertaking a range of reward activities - annual pay reviews, salary benchmarking etc.
 
Desired:
Experience in a pay/reward consultancy undertaking matching, analysis and reporting. Experience of building/modelling pay structures and bonus/commission schemes.
 
Main person/competence requirements
 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail and listening skills.
  • Able to complete the majority of tasks without supervision and to deadlines.
  • General understanding of HR and wider business issues in the knowledge economy.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and competencies to a range of HR and business situations.
  • Research/internet skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel modelling, data presentation and interpretation skills.
  • Ideally an understanding of reward theories, practices and techniques.
  • Basic consultative skills, with potential to advance in this area.
  • Ability to develop relationships with clients and suppliers for mutual benefit.
  • Ability to coach/mentor junior team members as required.
Location, working hours & pay
 

This role could be either full or part-time (minimum 25 hours per week) with some flexibility around working hours. The role would ideally be based in our office in Marlborough, Wiltshire, which is within 45 minutes’ drive of Swindon, Newbury, Salisbury, Chippenham etc.

The pay range for this role is £35,000 to £40,000 FTE, depending on skills and relevance of previous experience. In addition, you would be eligible to benefit from the company bonus scheme (after a qualifying period) and other benefits.
