Center Parcs: Creating a reward structure to support business growth
Center Parcs is a successful brand focussed on growth. As plans progressed for the new fifth Village in Woburn, the ambition was to have a clear pay and grading structure right from the first hire. This provided a great opportunity to implement a reward structure across the existing four Villages, while establishing the blueprint for Woburn.
The huge diversity in roles, from forest workers to beauty therapists, meant that a bespoke system was required to evaluate roles. Innecto worked with employees from HR and across the Villages to develop a job classification system unique to Center Parcs with particular focus on differentiating roles at the junior level where a visible career path is so important.
All roles in Head Office and Villages are now allocated to a clear organisational level, with accompanying external pay intelligence. This has enabled a more targeted approach to salary review and brought greater consistency in pay rates for like for like roles across different Villages.
An important aspect for Center Parcs was the development of in-house expertise. Innecto were able to provide guidance and coaching on the full pay benchmarking process so that this could be completed in house in future years. The focus has now turned to the development of a pay structure and how Innecto can support Center Parcs to create this.
